Minister of Health Mustapha Ferjani Chairs Meeting to Enhance Intensive Care Services in Tunisia
On Monday, November 24, 2025, Minister of Health Mustapha Ferjani presided over a working session with the Tunisian Society of Intensive Care, focusing on strengthening this specialty and improving the capacity of intensive care services in Tunisia, in light of the lessons learned from the Covid-19 pandemic.
Key Measures Announced
Following the meeting, the Minister announced several operational measures, including:
- Accelerating the expansion of intensive care services at Charles-Nicolle, Aziza Othmana, and Nabeul hospitals
- Generalizing similar projects in other regions
- Enhancing digitalization by expanding the use of electronic medical records, which have been successfully tested at the military hospital
- Equipping relevant services with advanced equipment, particularly in the field of hemofiltration
International Cooperation and Training
Minister Ferjani also highlighted the opening of new cooperation prospects with countries in the region and the African continent, aiming to train healthcare personnel and intensify expertise exchanges in intensive care. He emphasized the need for periodic monitoring of project progress to ensure rapid implementation and improved quality of care.
Upcoming Medical Congress
The Minister reminded attendees that the 29th Medical Intensive Care Congress will take place from November 27 to 29 in Hammamet, in parallel with the 19th Paramedical Professions Days.
