Meeting Between Tunisian and Algerian Foreign Ministers
On the sidelines of his participation in the International Conference on Colonialism Crimes in Africa and the 12th Annual Forum on Peace and Security in Africa, held in Algeria from November 30 to December 2, 2025, Mohamed Ali Nafti, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration, and Tunisians Abroad, met with his Algerian counterpart, Ahmed Attaf, Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad, and African Affairs.
Discussion on African Peace, Security, and Development
During the meeting, the two ministers discussed issues related to peace, security, and development on the African continent, as well as the importance of continuing efforts, in cooperation with international partners, to strengthen Africa's position and presence within the United Nations.
Review of Tunisian-Algerian Cooperation
The two ministers also reviewed the progress of preparations for the upcoming Tunisian-Algerian Joint Commission, which will be held in Tunis at the level of the Tunisian Head of Government and the Algerian Prime Minister. The goal is to achieve expected results in areas such as trade, industry, energy, and agriculture, and to facilitate the stay and movement of citizens from both countries.
Situation in Libya and Trilateral Mechanism
The meeting was also an opportunity to discuss the situation in Libya and emphasize the need to revive the trilateral Tunisian-Algerian-Egyptian mechanism concerning Libya, in order to contribute to finding a Libyan-Libyan solution that preserves the country's unity and stability.
Bilateral Relations and African Action
The Minister also held talks with his counterparts from Rwanda, Togo, and Namibia on ways to strengthen bilateral relations and common African action.
Meeting with the President of the Pan-African Parliament
He also met with the President of the Pan-African Parliament, who informed him about the progress of the work of this African parliamentary institution. On this occasion, emphasis was placed on the importance of joint parliamentary action as a lever to support the foundations of security, stability, and global development in Africa.
