Agreement on Professional Training Cooperation between Tunisia and Algeria
The Minister of Employment and Vocational Training, Riadh Chaoued, and the Algerian Minister of Training and Vocational Education, Nassima Arhab, have agreed to explore the possibility of creating a joint professional academy in a border region between the two countries.
Key Decisions
The announcement was made following a meeting held on the sidelines of the Skills Olympics, organized in Algeria from November 17 to 21, 2025. The two ministers have also decided to:
- Establish a joint technical sectoral commission to develop an annual action plan, monitor its implementation, and evaluate its results, with the aim of deepening bilateral cooperation in the areas of skills development, trainer training, and training engineering.
- Finalize the signing of a twinning agreement between the Tunisian National Center for Trainer Training and Training Engineering and the Algerian National Center for Distance Vocational Training and Education, paving the way for joint structural projects.
Cooperation Programs
A cooperation program will be launched to leverage Tunisian expertise in complementary and specialized training, as well as a second program dedicated to Algerian experience in mobile training units.
Exchange Program
The two parties have also announced the establishment of a training placement exchange program for the benefit of young Tunisians and Algerians, according to a statement published by the Tunisian Ministry of Employment.
