Tunisian President Receives Algerian Prime Minister

The President of the Republic, Kaïs Saïed, received Sifi Ghrieb, Prime Minister of the Algerian Democratic and Popular Republic, accompanied by Ahmed Attaf, Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad, and African Affairs, as well as Azouz Baallal, Ambassador of Algeria to Tunisia, on Thursday, December 11, at the Carthage Palace.

Discussion Highlights

The Head of State began the meeting by recalling several historic milestones in the relations between Tunisia and Algeria at all levels, particularly during the liberation war in both countries. He asked the Algerian Prime Minister to convey his sincerest greetings to President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, as well as his wishes to the Algerian people for further progress, elevation, and prosperity.

Strengthening Bilateral Relations

Kaïs Saïed emphasized the excellence of Tunisian-Algerian relations and the solidity of a deeply rooted cooperation between the two countries. He stressed the importance of joint work on the occasion of the 23rd session of the Tunisian-Algerian Joint Commission, in order to remove all obstacles and implement all bilateral projects as soon as possible. He estimated that the world is currently experiencing rapid and unprecedented changes, and that current challenges can only be overcome through joint action and increased wealth creation in both countries, whether in the public or private sector.

International Developments and Cooperation

The meeting also discussed international developments and reaffirmed the importance of continuing coordination and consultation between the two countries in the face of various challenges, in order to establish justice, security, and stability.

Support for the Palestinian People

In this context, the President of the Republic reiterated Tunisia's constant position in favor of the right of the Palestinian people to recover all their rights and establish their independent state, fully sovereign, with Al-Qods Acharif as its capital, the first of the two qiblas and the third holy place of Islam.
