New Digital Application Launched to Enhance Consumer Protection in Tunisia

Lotfi Riahi, president of the Tunisian Organization for Consumer Guidance, announced on Thursday, February 12, 2026, the launch of a new digital application aimed at strengthening communication with citizens and enabling them to track food prices, particularly as Ramadan approaches.

According to Mr. Riahi, the organization has relied on traditional media to communicate with consumers since its inception. Today, it is taking a new step by adopting smart applications, providing direct and updated access to information on basic food prices. "The new application allows users to calculate the actual cost of Tunisian dishes based on the number of family members and display the exact price of each chosen dish... It also includes a complaint submission section based on artificial intelligence, where citizens can report problems related to quality, prices, or other consumer issues. Users can therefore follow up on the processing of their complaint, verify the responses of the competent authorities, and, if necessary, see their complaint automatically transferred to a higher authority for resolution," he explained during his appearance on Express FM.

Additionally, the application offers awareness services on consumption and explains consumer protection laws. Regarding the cost of the Ramadan basket, Lotfi Riahi specified that it varies according to the number of family members and the products chosen, making it impossible to set a standard amount.

The president of the organization invited citizens to adopt this application to access its multiple services, strengthen their responsible consumption culture, and protect their purchasing power.
