New Scientific Studies Reveal Possibility of Producing Alzheimer's Treatment

New scientific studies have revealed the possibility of producing a medication to treat the early stages of Alzheimer's disease in the coming years, according to Leïla Alouane, President of the Tunisian Alzheimer's Association. On the occasion of World Alzheimer's Day (September 21), Alouane specified that this medication could stop the brain degeneration that causes the disease. According to Alouane, in Tunisia, the diagnosis of this pathology has significantly improved, but there are no official figures on the actual number of people affected by Alzheimer's, with the World Health Organization (WHO) citing 80,000 diagnosed cases in the country. "Alzheimer's is often detected late, sometimes between 10 and 20 years after the appearance of the first symptoms, such as memory disorders and behavioral changes," she added. She also emphasized the importance of prevention, which relies on a healthy lifestyle, including a balanced diet, regular physical activity, and intellectual stimulation.
