Tunisia Celebrates National Tree Day on November 9, 2025
Tunisia is celebrating its National Tree Day this Sunday, November 9, 2025, under the slogan "Nourish our Tunisia, develop our forests". On this occasion, the Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources, and Maritime Fishing has launched a national reforestation campaign that will continue until the end of March 2026.
Objective of the Campaign
This initiative aims to restore degraded forest ecosystems, particularly those affected by fires and damage to public forest domains, and to strengthen the country's vegetation cover.
Key Figures
The campaign plans to plant approximately 8 million seedlings across the country, allowing for the regeneration of nearly 7,900 hectares of forest areas.
Official Launch
The official launch took place this morning at 9:00 am at Nahli Park (Ariana Governorate), under the theme "A tree for each institution... a step towards ecological transition".
