Tunisian Women's Wrestling Team Shines at African Under-20 Championships
The Tunisian women's wrestling team has made a remarkable performance at the African Under-20 Championships, held in Cairo, winning five medals, including four gold and one silver, according to the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
Competing with a delegation of six athletes, the Tunisian wrestlers managed to secure the second place in the overall team ranking in the women's category, solidifying the growth of the sport at the continental level.
The gold medals were won by Israa Slimi (-53 kg), Emna Hammami (-55 kg), Chahd Jelajli (-57 kg), and Chaima Dahi (-59 kg), showcasing Tunisia's dominance in several weight categories. Meanwhile, Malek Samoudi took home the silver medal in the -50 kg category.
In the men's competition, Mustapha Batnini secured a bronze medal in freestyle wrestling in the -61 kg category, contributing to the overall performance of the Tunisian delegation.
