Nineteen New Industrial Enterprises Obtain Authorized Economic Operator Status
Nineteen new industrial enterprises operating in the automotive components, textile, leather, and footwear sectors, as well as industrial services, obtained the Authorized Economic Operator (OEA) status on Thursday, granted by the General Directorate of Customs. The number of enterprises that have already obtained this status since the launch of the program in 2010 now stands at 221 enterprises, including 126 industrial enterprises. The agreements related to the granting of this status were signed between the Tunisian General Directorate of Customs and these enterprises during an information day on the Authorized Economic Operator status, held in Tunis. The Authorized Economic Operator is a status granted to any enterprise established in Tunisia, carrying out activities related to external trade, having the trust of the customs administration, and meeting minimum conditions. This status allows beneficiary enterprises to reduce the delays of physical inspections of goods and, consequently, those of parking at port level, using simplified declarations established in accordance with the provisions of the customs code or detailed declarations automatically oriented to the green channel.
