Tunisair Launches International Tender for Restructuring and Strategic Support
The national airline, Tunisair, is currently preparing a call for tenders to select international experts who will lead its restructuring and provide strategic guidance, in line with the Transport Ministry’s directives to redefine the future of the national carrier.
This initiative follows the decisions of the restricted ministerial council of 31 January 2025, which required the submission of a comprehensive restructuring plan by the end of March 2025. The ministry emphasized that Tunisair must rely on international specialists to adapt its program to national legislation, while taking public‑finance constraints into account and incorporating best‑in‑class international governance practices.
A first version of the plan was submitted in March 2025, then revised to incorporate feedback from the government presidency and the Transport Ministry, according to the official response recently published on the Council’s website.
The new plan aims to propose concrete measures to improve the company’s efficiency and strengthen its competitiveness in the airline market. The terms of reference currently being drafted will precisely define the technical criteria for selecting the consulting firm that will support Tunisair during this critical phase, ensuring compliance with deadlines and commitments to the supervisory authority.
