Representatives of the AFEK Development Association Present Green Waste Treatment Project to Tunis Municipality
Representatives of the AFEK Development Association presented, on Tuesday, a project proposal for the treatment and valorisation of green waste during a meeting with Sameh Daldoul, the manager of the Municipality of Tunis.
The initiative is based on the composting station located in Belvédère Park, which the Municipality of Tunis describes as one of its main assets in the recycling sector.
Project Objectives
- Convert biodegradable organic waste into high‑quality eco‑vegetal compost.
- Reduce household waste and its environmental impact.
- Promote sustainable urban agriculture and improve soil health.
Municipal Perspective
According to the municipal manager, initiatives like this enhance the urban environment, increase green spaces, and raise the quality of life for residents. She also called on associations and citizens to submit ideas that will help make Tunis a greener and more pleasant city to live in.

Both parties agreed to examine the proposal in depth, focusing on legal and technical aspects, to ensure its effective implementation.
