Main Gate of El Manar University Campus Collapses After Truck Collision
Tunis, 18 February 2026 – The main entrance gate of the El Manar University campus collapsed after being struck by a truck, the General Federation of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced in a statement on Wednesday.
- Damage: The impact caused significant material damage, including to a parked car located near the site.
- Casualties: No reports of injuries or fatalities have been released so far.
The Federation has called on the relevant authorities to intervene as soon as possible to clear the debris from the fallen gate. It warned that the remaining wreckage poses a serious danger to pedestrians and road users, especially the students and faculty who frequent the campus daily.
“The site must be secured immediately, and appropriate measures taken to prevent any further risk while the main gate is being restored,” the Federation added.
