Economic Control Operations on the First Day of Ramadan 2026 in Tunis

Overview
On the very first day of Ramadan 2026, the Economic Control Brigades under the Regional Directorate of Trade and Export Development of Tunis completed 116 inspection visits carried out by six control units. The inspections resulted in 49 recorded economic violations across a range of food‑related sectors.
“Overall, the control teams observed a strong commitment from traders to respect legal profit margins,” said Sihem Mabrouk, Regional Director of Trade for the Governorate of Tunis.

The Directorate confirmed that price‑drift interventions have already been applied, especially in the poultry and red‑meat sectors, to bring market prices back to legally established levels.
