President of the Republic, Kaïs Saïed, Receives Omani Minister of Commerce

The President of the Republic, Kaïs Saïed, received His Excellency Kais ben Mohammed El Youssef, Minister of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion of the Sultanate of Oman, yesterday, Saturday, December 6, 2025, at the Carthage Palace.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Head of State recalled the privileged historical relations between Tunisia and the Sultanate of Oman, emphasizing that the relations between the two countries are ancient, deep, and firmly rooted. He indicated that they are illustrated by numerous testimonies, including the school founded in Muscat at the beginning of the 20th century by the Tunisian teacher Mohamed Ali Bouzidna, during the time of Sultan Taimur bin Faisal, as well as the historic visit made to Tunisia in 1973 by the late Sultan Qaboos bin Said, may God rest his soul.

The President of the Republic added that the bilateral cooperation trajectory, which began in the early 1970s and was consolidated over the years in the fields of education, culture, training, administration, health, and justice, is now called upon to develop and diversify further. It could thus extend to many sectors of the economy, trade, investment, and human resource development, relying on the capital of mutual respect between the two brotherly peoples, and in light of the broad prospects for cooperation and partnership opportunities offered by both parties. He also welcomed the results achieved and the promising prospects opened up by the visit of the Omani Minister of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion to Tunisia.

The Head of State emphasized that the rapid and profound changes that the world is experiencing today, as well as the challenges and changes they impose, require increased rapprochement and cooperation in order to meet the demands of history and be fully engaged actors in it.
