Minister of Equipment and Housing Visits Kairouan to Oversee Progress of Tunis-Jelma Highway
The Minister of Equipment and Housing, Salah Zouari, conducted a field visit to the Kairouan governorate on Monday to monitor the progress of the Tunis-Jelma highway project, specifically the Kairouan section.
Project Overview
The highway spans 185 km and has a budget of 1.7 billion dinars. According to the minister's statement to Jawhara FM, the project has achieved a progress rate of 30%. The completion of the project is expected by 2027.
Accelerating Project Progress
Minister Zouari explained that state-owned sections of the project have been allocated to public projects to accelerate the pace of work. The visit included a tour of the various sections of the project to assess the progress of work, including filling, framing, and concreting, as well as monitoring the progress of artistic works.
Site Inspection
The minister also visited the Djebel Fouares area to inspect zones with technical peculiarities, accompanied by representatives of the executing companies and several regional and local officials. This visit aimed to ensure the project's timely completion and adherence to technical standards.
