The International Council of Women Entrepreneurs (CIFE), in partnership with the Konrad Adenauer Foundation (KAS), launched its International Congress "Women's Leadership and Economic Integration: Strategic Synergies between Tunisia and the Mediterranean" in Tunis on Tuesday. The event, which takes place from November 18 to 20, brings together high-level decision-makers, private sector leaders, academics, and representatives of regional and international organizations.
The congress aims to develop a common roadmap to strengthen the presence of women in positions of responsibility and support economic integration in the Mediterranean region. The opening ceremony was marked by interventions from Rachida Jebnoun, President of CIFE, Winfried Weck, Director of the KAS Regional Program PolDiMed, Anne Gueguen, Ambassador of France to Tunisia, and Alessandro Prunas, Ambassador of Italy. The official opening was ensured by Fatma Thabet Chiboub, Minister of Industry, Mines, and Energy.

The panels address the challenges of governance, perspectives on economic transformation, and the role of women in regional integration and building Mediterranean synergies. "This congress is not just a conference, it's a commitment to action. The adoption of a common roadmap will be a decisive milestone in building a more inclusive governance in the region," emphasized Rachida Jebnoun.
On November 19, Tunisia will be highlighted as a strategic bridge between the two shores of the Mediterranean. The session will be opened by Samir Abid, Minister of Trade and Export Development, and will include interventions from Nejiba Chouk, Vice-President of CIFE, and Michael Bauer, Resident Representative of KAS in Tunisia. The discussions will focus on the impact of women-led enterprises on growth, Tunisia's role as a regional platform for women's leadership, and the central place of women in key economic sectors.
The closing of the congress on November 20 will be dedicated to exploring concrete levers for change and marketing Tunisia as a country. Participants will examine institutional mechanisms as vectors of equity and development, while highlighting the central role of women's entrepreneurship in inclusive, innovative, and sustainable growth.
The International Congress confirms Tunisia's willingness to play a catalyzing role for sustainable and inclusive women's leadership. These three days of work should enable the launch of concrete partnerships and structural initiatives promoting economic integration and regional impact in the Mediterranean.
