University of Tunis El Manar (UTM) Ranks Among the World's Top 700 Universities
The University of Tunis El Manar (UTM) has solidified its position among the world's top 700 universities, according to the QS ranking, and among the top 800 universities, according to the Times Higher Education 2025 ranking. This dual recognition confirms UTM's status as the leading Tunisian and Maghreb university, underscoring its commitment to excellence, innovation, and sustainability.
During the second University Forum, UTM President Moez Charfa praised these achievements, stating that they reflect "the excellence of the university community and the concrete impact of international partnerships." He commended the work of teachers, researchers, and students, as well as the support of the European Union delegation and institutional partners.
Professor Charfa highlighted the university's ambitious strategy, which focuses on innovation and sustainability. Through its innovation hubs, student-entrepreneur hub, university innovation and technology hub, and student and entrepreneur dedicated hubs, UTM reinforces its role as a committed actor in Tunisia's economic, social, and environmental development.
The university also excels in global rankings related to the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It ranks among the top 101-200 universities for SDG 4, which focuses on quality education, progressing from 40th to 22nd place globally. For SDG 3, related to health and well-being, UTM ranks 37th globally, first in Africa and the Arab world.
"Our university trains a Tunisian youth that is open to the world, competent, and ready to tackle global challenges," President Charfa affirmed, emphasizing that this forum marks a new stage in cooperation between Tunisian and European institutions. He concluded by calling for the continuation of this collective dynamic to build a future founded on knowledge, innovation, and sustainability.
