X20 Bypass Project Reaches 95% Completion Rate
The X20 bypass project, connecting the regional road 31 to the Tunis-Oued Zarga highway, has reached a completion rate of 95% and is expected to be operational by December, according to a source responsible for the project, as reported to the TAP agency.
Project Overview
The 15.5 km long bypass spans across the governorates of Ariana, Manouba, and Tunis, with a total investment of approximately 140 million dinars. Once operational, it is expected to significantly improve traffic flow in the region and enhance mobility conditions for users.
Recent Developments
During a visit to the construction site on September 5, the Minister of Equipment and Housing, Salah Zouari, urged the consortium of companies in charge of the project to mobilize all necessary human and logistical resources to accelerate the execution pace. The minister emphasized the importance of respecting contractual commitments to deliver the infrastructure before the end of the year, following a series of delays.
Deadline and Expectations
An ultimatum was set for the contractors to resolve outstanding technical issues and remove obstacles, ensuring the bypass's effective entry into operation by December 2025. With the project nearing completion, expectations are high for improved traffic conditions and enhanced mobility in the region.
