Tunisian National Police Conducts Major Security Operation in Capital City

The Tunisian National Police units carried out a significant security operation in the heart of the capital city on Thursday, resulting in the arrest of 30 individuals, including some considered to be dangerous and involved in a narcotics trafficking network, according to a security source.
Among those apprehended were several individuals who were the subject of arrest warrants issued by judicial and security authorities in various cases, including violent attacks with sharp objects, violent thefts, as well as snatch thefts and threats.
During the intervention, law enforcement forces seized a significant quantity of cannabis, as well as sharp objects used, according to initial investigation findings, to intimidate passersby and residents of certain neighborhoods in the capital.
The prosecution near the First Instance Tribunal in Tunis ordered the detention of all apprehended individuals, pending their presentation before the justice system.
