Group Exhibition "Big Moments" at the Maison des Arts du Belvédère
The group exhibition "Big Moments" featuring a selection of large-format artworks will take place from September 6 to 20, 2025, at the Maison des Arts du Belvédère (National Center for Living Arts - CNAV). Organized in collaboration with the Tunisian Contemporary Art Association "Art Cot" under the patronage of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, this event brings together 27 artists to propose a stylistic journey that showcases the richness of Tunisian contemporary plastic art, blending narrative figuration and intuitive abstraction.
Discovering the Artworks
Upon entering the exhibition space, the first artwork that catches the eye is "ça ne tient qu'à un fil" (it all hangs by a thread) by Kaouther Kassou Jallezi (Kassou), an acrylic on canvas piece (200x280 cm) that pays homage to the feminine, with colors and white lace embroidered in trompe-l'oeil. The artist depicts five women marked by the opulence of color and enveloped in soft sensuality, creating a work that testifies to the profusion of the imagination in a figurative piece that leaves the viewer with a sense of sweetness and voluptuousness.
Emna Masmoudi's Spiritual Vision
With her artwork "Au fil de l'aube" (at the break of dawn) (150x150 cm), Emna Masmoudi uses a technique combining acrylic, fabric, and collage to embody a spiritual and mystical vision between dawn and the birth of day, marked by electrical wires that structure the space. In search of interiority, her artwork is characterized by ochre tones, including orange and violet, with the notion of a road flooded with light and colors between sky and earth. Her work is influenced by impressionism, which she describes as "a metaphor for space and resilience, an inner exploration in search of spirituality through color and nuances."
Emna Mnaouar's Colorful Movement
Emna Mnaouar's "Fauna numéro 5" is an oil on canvas piece (150x150 cm) where the artist focuses on the movement and displacement of color. She explains that her technique involves "successive layers through a process of subtraction that allows all colors to be combined." She mixes her own powders to obtain unique colors, and "Fauna numéro 5" is part of a series of 12 artworks she is working on. The title "Fauna" refers to birds, and she prefers not to name her artworks, as each person can interpret them in their own way.
