Tunisian Transport Company Urges Citizens to Stop Littering at Train Stations and Tracks

The Tunisian Transport Company (Transtu) has called on users to cease disposing of household and commercial waste at train stations and near railway tracks, emphasizing the importance of respecting public spaces as a shared resource.

In a statement, the company announced that it will continue its efforts to ensure the cleanliness of its infrastructure and improve the quality of its services. However, it expressed regret over the persistence of intentional littering in several stations and within the railway area, disrupting scheduled cleaning operations, including nighttime cleaning by its teams.

According to the same source, these behaviors have been recently observed at the "Saïdia", "Khaznadar", "Artisanat", and "Denden" stations on line 4, as well as at the "La Marsa Aéroport" station on the Tunis–La Goulette–La Marsa line.

In response to this situation, the company has called on civil society actors and local authorities to strengthen the fight against these practices, which it considers unacceptable due to their impact on safety, environmental cleanliness, and public service continuity.

The company has also announced that it will take necessary measures and pursue legal action against anyone involved in these infractions, while continuing its cleaning operations to maintain a clean and secure environment for users.

Finally, the Tunisian Transport Company has urged citizens to adopt civic behavior and called on local authorities and civil society to support its efforts to preserve cleanliness and the sustainability of public transportation services.
