Minister of Transport, Rachid Amri, Praises Renewal of PART 145 License to Tunisair's Technical Branch

The Minister of Transport, Rachid Amri, has welcomed the renewal of the PART 145 license by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) to Tunisair's technical branch. This license authorizes Tunisair Technique to perform maintenance on European aircraft and their components, following a comprehensive audit conducted by EASA from September 30 to October 2, 2025.

The Minister also praised this national achievement, considering it the result of the efforts deployed by Tunisian skills and expertise, and as a driver to continue obtaining honorable results, according to a statement published on Saturday, October 4, by the Ministry of Transport.

Evaluation of Maintenance Work Progress

According to the statement, the Minister had chaired a working session the day before, on Friday, October 3, 2025, dedicated to evaluating the progress of the maintenance work of the airline's fleet. This cell was created as part of the recommendations of the working session held on September 18, 2025, and operates under the supervision of the steering committee of the safety management system.

Objectives of the Cell

The cell aims to strengthen the air safety system in accordance with international standards and improve fleet availability. It is responsible for accelerating the pace of periodic inspections of aircraft, detecting any technical gaps, and remedying them according to established procedures, in coordination with all concerned structures. The completion rate of the cell's work has reached around 68%.

Recommendations and Next Steps

During the session, the Minister of Transport recommended accelerating the pace of achievements to finalize the established plan as soon as possible. The steering committee of the safety management system also reviewed its work program aimed at strengthening continuous training and awareness in the field of air safety, with the aim of improving the performance of all actors in the sector and perfecting the technical methods used.
