Tunisia has made a remarkable showing in the latest data released by the Global Tax Transparency Index (GTETI). The country has now joined the ranks of the world's most transparent nations in terms of tax reporting, exemptions, and incentives.
The 2026 global ranking highlights a significant improvement in Tunisia's performance at both regional and international levels. Tunisia has risen to 27th place globally in the latest edition of this international index. According to the official report, the country holds the top spot in the Maghreb and Arab regions with a score of 59.1 points out of 100, marking a notable improvement in its performance compared to the previous ranking.
On the African continent, Tunisia secured fifth place. This top five is dominated by Benin, followed by Niger, Guinea, and Burkina Faso in fourth place, just ahead of Tunisia.
