Fatal Road Accident in Kairouan
According to a preliminary report, a severe road accident occurred on Monday, November 17, 2025, on National Road No. 12, connecting Kairouan to Monastir, near the intersection close to the tire factory. The accident resulted in two fatalities and over 30 injuries.
The Kairouan Civil Protection confirmed that the accident involved an Algerian car carrying four people, which overturned. The incident caused a passenger bus to leave the road and collide with a tree. The bus driver and a female passenger, a police officer at the Kairouan National Security Directorate, lost their lives at the scene.
Security units and ambulances immediately responded to the scene to care for the injured and secure the area. Local authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact circumstances of the accident.
