Ministry of Industry, Mines, and Energy Reveals 75% Progress on Tozeur Photovoltaic Plant
The Ministry of Industry, Mines, and Energy has announced that the installation works for the Tozeur photovoltaic plant, carried out by Scatec and Engie (not Aeolis), have reached a completion rate of 75%. A delegation visited the project site, comprising:
- Afef Chachi Tayari, Chief of Staff to the Minister of Industry
- Osuga Takashi, Japanese Ambassador to Tunisia
- Anne-Marie Gjeljord, Vice President of Scatec, a Norwegian company specializing in renewable energy
- Tessayu Hirata, Executive Director of the Japanese Toyota group's subsidiary
- Several representatives from the ministry and regional authorities
During this visit, aimed at evaluating the project's progress, emphasis was placed on the need to meet the completion deadlines. The project, valued at 135 million dinars, will have a production capacity of 50 megawatts. Afef Chachi Tayari highlighted the ministry's support for the project's success, which is part of the first phase of concession projects in five governorates: Tozeur, Tataouine, Kairouan, Gafsa, and Sidi Bouzid. She praised the efforts made to respect the established schedule.
