Imagine an Oasis Where Sap Is No Longer Just Water, but Pure Innovation

With the launch of the “Tozeur, Oasis of Science and Technology” project, southern Tunisia is poised to experience a true revolution of the mind.

More than a simple piece of infrastructure, this future tech hub stands as an unprecedented springboard for a youth hungry for knowledge.

From robotics clubs and hackathons to scientific immersion programs, Tozeur finally gives its children the keys to a border‑less digital world, turning every young resident into a potential architect of tomorrow’s society.

A New Horizon for the Youth of the Djérid Region

The imminent opening of this ambitious technology pole marks a fresh horizon for the Djérid youth—a genuine engine of innovation and learning.

Once construction is complete, the “Tozeur, Oasis of Science and Technology” project will be officially inaugurated. It is driven by the Youth Vision association in partnership with Les Jeunes Créatifs de Nafta and Al Karama de Tozeur, and it forms part of the Souafi programme funded by the European Union. Implementation is overseen by the National Agency for the Promotion of Scientific Research (ANPR).

A Catalyst for Young Ambitions

The project is not merely a building; it aims to become the beating heart of scientific culture in the region. Its primary goal is to disseminate technological knowledge among young people and to spark a spirit of innovation and initiative.

To turn this potential into concrete success, several major initiatives will be rolled out:

  • Robotics clubs to introduce youngsters to tomorrow’s professions.
  • Annual competitions across the governorate’s delegations to foster healthy emulation.
  • Field‑based scientific excursions that link theory with practice.
  • The launch of an “Oasis Hackathon,” a creative challenge designed to devise innovative, sustainable solutions for the specific issues facing the Tozeur oasis.

An Inclusive, Future‑Oriented Project

The most remarkable aspect of this initiative is its inter‑generational reach. Activities are designed for every age group—from primary‑school pupils to high‑school students and users of youth centers.

By investing in human capital this way, Tozeur ensures that its youth have the tools they need to become the drivers of technological and ecological development in their region.
