Proposal for Regularization of Informal Neighborhoods

The Office of the People's Representatives Assembly recently submitted a bill to the Strategic Planning, Sustainable Development, Transport, Infrastructure, and Land Use Planning Commission, aiming to regularize the land and legal situation of informal neighborhoods.

The announcement was made on Monday evening by MP Mohamed Zied El Maher during his intervention on Diwan FM. He specified that this legislative initiative aims to regularize homes built without legal authorization or in violation of existing urban planning and construction regulations.

According to the MP, the bill, presented by a group of parliamentarians, clearly defines the categories concerned by the regularization, sets the registration value of real estate, and outlines the main procedures to be followed for the compliance of the concerned housing.

Mohamed Zied El Maher also indicated that the competent parliamentary committee will soon begin a series of hearings, including the authors of the proposal and all stakeholders, to examine the text and enrich its content. He further emphasized that the current bill proposals submitted to the various Assembly committees concern all components of society and are of major importance, both socially and economically.
