The Tunisian Minister of Tourism, Soufiane Tekaya, accompanied the Tunisian delegation to the "Top Resa" tourism fair, which opened on Tuesday in Paris. The Tunisian participation took place in the presence of several tourism ministers and high-ranking officials from the largest French and international travel agencies.
Accompanied by the Tunisian Ambassador to France, Dhia Khaled, and the Director General of the Tunisian National Tourism Office, Mohamed Mehdi Heloui, Mr. Tekaya visited the Tunisian pavilion. The pavilion attracted a large number of exhibitors, including representatives of travel agencies, hotels, and professionals from the Tunisian tourism sector.
The Minister had intensive meetings with officials from French travel agencies operating in the Tunisian market, as well as with representatives of sectoral organizations and media, according to a statement from the Ministry of Tourism.
These meetings highlighted the national tourism strategy, which aims to develop alternative and sustainable forms of tourism and diversify the tourist offer. The goal is to promote Saharan, ecological, and therapeutic tourism, ensuring the sustainability of tourist activity and strengthening Tunisia's position as a leading tourist destination.
The Minister emphasized the strategic importance of the French market, which has seen significant development in terms of the number of visitors to Tunisia. The number of French tourists exceeded one million in 2024, representing an 8% growth since the beginning of the year compared to the same period last year, and a 26% increase compared to 2019.
