Tunisian Minister of Tourism Meets with New Executive Board of Tunisian Federation of Tourist Restaurants
The Minister of Tourism, Soufiene Tekaya, received the members of the new Executive Board of the Tunisian Federation of Tourist Restaurants on Wednesday at the ministry's headquarters. The meeting focused on examining proposals from professionals and ways to develop and organize the tourist restaurant sector.
According to a press release published by the ministry on Thursday evening, several practical measures were agreed upon during the meeting, including:
- Updating and developing classification criteria for different categories and types of tourist restaurants to simplify administrative procedures, stimulate investment, and improve service quality.
- Organizing an information day to present a joint program between the Federation and the Ministry to further develop tourist restaurant activity during the next period, with the participation of various stakeholders and actors in the field.
- Agreement on participation in training programs offered by the Tourism Vocational Training Agency and the Higher Institute of Tourism and Hotel Studies in Sidi Dhrif, aiming to develop study programs and integrate new specialties that meet market needs.
- Agreement on preferential prices for Tunisian families and tourists in classified tourist restaurants, particularly during vacation periods, as part of the support for domestic tourism.
The Minister emphasized the need for a prospective and proactive approach in organizing the sector, based on monitoring global developments in terms of quality and tourist experiences, while modernizing the legislative and regulatory framework to stimulate investment.
According to the press release, the Minister of Tourism highlighted the importance of complementarity between the public and private sectors and the need for participatory work and permanent coordination between professional and administrative structures to ensure the success of the reform and development process. He also stated that the ministry is determined to accelerate the pace of reforms and reduce delays to achieve a qualitative leap in the various fields of the tourism sector.
The meeting was attended by several ministry officials and the Director General of the Tunisian National Tourism Office.
