Nabeul Region Prepares for New Year's Celebrations and Winter Break
The regional tourism commissioner in Nabeul, Wahid Ben Fraj, has announced the launch of preparations to ensure the success of New Year's festivities and the winter school break, with approximately 15,000 tourists expected to stay in hotels in the Nabeul-Hammamet region.
Tourist Accommodations and Services
These visitors will be distributed across 32 tourist units, which have been mobilized to guarantee the smooth running of celebrations in accordance with quality and safety standards. According to the regional official, inspection services from the regional commission have been conducting intensified control campaigns for several weeks, covering all tourist units.
Quality Control and Safety Measures
These operations focus on ensuring compliance with food safety regulations, hygiene rules, pool safety, service quality, and verification of self-protection devices, preventive security measures, tourist excursions, and the condition of transportation means.
Tourist Indicators and Performance
In terms of tourist indicators, the regional commissioner reported encouraging results, with nearly 900,000 arrivals recorded since the beginning of the year until the end of November, totaling approximately 5 million overnight stays. This represents a 5% increase compared to the same period last year.
Future Prospects and Expectations
Wahid Ben Fraj expressed his hope to exceed the threshold of 1 million visitors by the end of the year, highlighting that the tourist season has been extended until the end of October, beyond the usual summer period. This contributes to gradually reducing the seasonality of the sector. He also indicated that the region is expected to experience sustained tourist activity during the coming period, driven by domestic tourism, the Algerian market, and traditional markets, including French, British, Czech, and Polish markets.
