Tozeur Region Prepares for Series of Tourist Events to Mark the Start of Winter Season
The Tozeur region is gearing up for a series of tourist events to kick off the winter season. The highlight of the festivities will be the International Hot Air Balloon Festival, which will take place in Touzer, Douz, and Djerba from October 24 to November 1, 2025.
Touzer will host the event from October 28 to 30, with delegations from around the world participating. The program includes:
- Hot air balloon flights
- Artistic performances
A cleaning program has also been implemented to prepare the launch sites, including the ancient oasis of Touzer and Ong Jmal.
These festivities are part of a strategy to promote Saharan tourism. They will begin with the ninth edition of the Trek Mirage Jerid, a Saharan marathon that will take place from September 25 to 28.
The region is expected to attract a large number of tourists and enthusiasts, offering a unique opportunity to experience the beauty of the Sahara desert and its rich cultural heritage.
