Regional Tourism Boom in Jendouba

The regional delegate for tourism in Jendouba, Issa Marouani, announced that 818,636 visitors crossed the region's three border posts between January 1 and August 28, 2025. This influx has boosted the tourism sector in the Tabarka and Aïn Draham areas, stimulating economic activity, particularly in handicrafts and tourist transportation. The domestic market holds the top spot in terms of visitor numbers and overnight stays (68%), followed by the Algerian market, and then the Polish market, with 1,989 Polish tourists.

Several tourism projects are underway, including a 5-star hotel scheduled to open by the end of the year, aimed at increasing the region's accommodation capacity. The Côte Marjane project in Tabarka, currently in the study phase, will span 140 hectares and feature:

  • A health hub
  • A commercial hub
  • A tourist hub
  • A leisure hub
  • An ecological village

As part of the 2026-2030 development plan, three new hotels with 5 and 4-star categories are also planned for the region.
