United Arab Emirates Defense Ministry Reports Casualties and Damage After Iranian Strikes
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Ministry of Defense announced on Sunday that three people have been killed and 58 others injured since the Iranian attacks on Emirati territory began on Saturday.
Air‑Defense Successes
- On the morning of the second day of the assault, the UAE’s air force and air‑defence units destroyed 20 ballistic missiles, while eight more fell into the sea.
- Two cruise missiles were intercepted and destroyed, along with 311 drones.
- However, 21 drones managed to reach civilian targets.
Ballistic‑Missile Activity
- Since the Iranian offensive launched on Saturday, 165 ballistic missiles fired from Iran toward the UAE were detected.
- 152 were intercepted and destroyed.
- 13 fell into the UAE’s territorial waters.
Drone Activity
- 541 Iranian drones were spotted.
- 506 were intercepted and destroyed by the UAE’s defence systems.
- 35 penetrated the national territory, causing material damage.
The statement also confirmed the destruction of two cruise missiles detected during the operations.
Human Toll and Material Damage
- The attacks resulted in three fatalities (nationalities: Pakistani, Nepali, Bangladeshi).
- 58 people suffered light injuries, including citizens and residents from the UAE, Egypt, Ethiopia, the Philippines, Pakistan, Iran, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Azerbaijan, Yemen, Uganda, Eritrea, Lebanon, and Afghanistan.
The ministry added that debris from intercepted missiles fell in several areas, causing light to moderate damage to civilian property.
“Full‑Readiness State”
UAE authorities stressed that the armed forces remain on maximum alert and fully prepared to counter any threat. They emphasized that the safety of citizens, residents, and visitors is an absolute priority.
Daily Life Continues
On the ground, everyday life appears to be proceeding normally, especially in Dubai. In the downtown area near the Burj Khalifa, streets were bustling and major shopping centres continued to welcome visitors as usual, according to a correspondent from the Chinese news agency Xinhua.
“Market activity remains stable. Supply chains are operating efficiently and consumer demand is normal,” said Salem Al Shamsi, a merchant and member of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce.
Additional Defence Actions
The United Arab Emirates also announced that it has “processed and destroyed” 137 additional ballistic missiles and 209 more drones launched toward its territory since the start of the Iranian attack.
