US Ambassador Announces Plans of Three American Companies to Expand Operations in Tunisia

During his meeting with the President of the Assembly of the Representatives of the People (ARP), Brahim Bouderbala, US Ambassador to Tunisia, Bill Bazzi, announced on Tuesday the willingness of three American companies to expand their activities in Tunisia.

As stated in a press release published by the ARP, Ambassador Bazzi emphasized the importance that the United States attaches to cooperation and friendship relations with Tunisia and its commitment to continue supporting the country, particularly in the economic and investment fields.

The American diplomat highlighted the positive image of Tunisia among US politicians and business leaders, who consider the country's investment climate to be favorable and promising.

He also mentioned the encouraging results achieved through military cooperation and expressed the desire to strengthen bilateral relations in the tourism sector, encouraging American tourists to choose Tunisia as their destination.

Ambassador Bazzi also stressed the importance of cooperation in the field of higher education and the teaching of English, in particular, given its role in bringing the two friendly peoples closer together.

He praised the high skills of Tunisian youth, which, in his opinion, qualify them to play a major role both within society and in the country's development process.

Ambassador Bazzi also stated that his country closely follows the political developments in Tunisia, highlighting the convergence of views on promoting democracy and human rights. He also emphasized the agreement on fundamental principles and values that underlie relations between the two peoples.

For his part, Brahim Bouderbala, President of the ARP, welcomed the US commitment to strengthening its investment projects and programs in Tunisia.

He emphasized the institution's commitment to mobilizing all necessary means to ensure the success of these initiatives through favorable legal frameworks.

The ARP President also highlighted the institution's willingness to support the executive branch's efforts to establish close cooperation with friendly countries in a spirit of reciprocity and respect for national sovereignty.

He emphasized the importance of strengthening common action through visits and the exchange of experiences and expertise.

On a different note, the ARP President reviewed the democratic building process in Tunisia and the country's unique political system, emphasizing the commitment to preserving rights and freedoms, supporting freedom of expression, and organizing political life based on the rule of law and institutions.

In this context, he recalled the rights of the Palestinian people recognized by the international community, estimating that the United States, due to its weight, can play an important role in enabling the Palestinian people to recover their legitimate rights.
