The Question on Everyone's Mind
The question is more relevant than ever, and it's at the forefront of discussions among political analysts, radio and TV commentators, and ordinary citizens who are still interested in what's happening at the Bardo Palace. They are all scrutinizing what the elected members of the Assembly of People's Representatives (ARP) and the National Council of Regions and Districts (Cnrd) are preparing, particularly in recent days, as they discuss the state budget project and the finance bill for the 2026 fiscal year. The question is: are our deputies, especially the most media-savvy ones, aligned with the country's fundamental development choices, or are they at least informed about the civilizational orientations that the President of the Republic has defined as crucial for Tunisia's future?
We can't help but feel proud when we discover the good news of the National Pact for Strengthening Family Capacities for Safe Child Navigation in Cyberspace, signed between the Ministry of Family and the Ministry of Communication Technologies. This initiative is a step in the right direction.
However, on the other hand, we are stunned by the intervention of a deputy who is calling for a return to polygamy as a solution to family problems. This statement raises concerns about the deep intellectual gap between the country's presidency and some of its representatives. These representatives are supposed to be anchored in the real concerns of citizens who have entrusted them with their confidence to pave the way for Tunisia's long-awaited civilizational takeoff, with the Head of State working daily to lay the foundations, precisely by making women and young people the essential driving force.
This is because he is convinced that a nation that does not rely on its women and young people to build its future has no chance of advancing and joining the international movement of progress and prosperity.
Nevertheless, Tunisians know that discordant voices, even if they falsely claim to be part of the July 25 process, will not prevail. Their behavior, lies, and demagogic practices have been exposed, and nobody listens to them anymore.
