Chinese Company Taiking Electronics Chooses Tunisia for First Overseas Production Unit
Taiking Electronics, a Chinese company specializing in mechanical industries and high-precision components for electric and electronic vehicles, has chosen Tunisia as the location for its first overseas production unit. The company plans to invest an initial 40 million dinars and create approximately 300 jobs, according to the Ministry of Economy and Planning.
The entire production of the new subsidiary, Taiking Electronics Tunisia, will be destined for export. The company has finalized all preparatory steps for the project, including the acquisition of the land.
On Monday, May 4, 2026, the Minister of Economy and Planning, Samir Abdelhafidh, received a delegation from the company consisting of Moli Chen, Executive Director, and Kurt Wong, General Director. During the meeting, Moli Chen presented the activities of the group and its strategic orientations, which are based on the development and extension of its production capacities through the adoption of advanced technologies.
Moli Chen emphasized that the choice of Tunisia resulted from in-depth studies that highlighted its advantages in terms of investment, competitiveness, and industrial positioning.
In response, Samir Abdelhafidh welcomed this decision, expressing the availability of public structures to accompany the project and ensure the best conditions for its launch and development within the shortest possible timeframe.
The meeting was attended by the General Director of the Agency for the Promotion of External Investment, Jalel Taïeb, responsible for managing the Tunisian Investment Agency, as well as officials from the Ministry and the Tunisian Investment Agency, and the General Director of the Sousse Novation City Development Pole, Hichem Turki.
