Tunis Court Issues Arrest Warrant for Young Man Who Pointed Fake Gun at Police
The prosecutor's office of the Tunis Court of First Instance has issued an arrest warrant for a young man who appeared in a video pointing a fake gun at a police patrol. The incident occurred during the docking of the "Flotilla of Resistance" in the port of Sidi Bou Saïd in the northern suburbs of the capital.
Videos of the event have circulated on social media, showing the young man pointing the fake gun at a police patrol vehicle and another video showing him assaulting a traffic officer in the same Sidi Bou Saïd suburb.
After being taken into custody by the Carthage judicial police brigade, the young man was referred to the prosecutor's office, which decided to detain him pending his trial by the criminal chamber for the charges against him.
