"They Came, They're All Here!" - Tunisian Avenue Transformed into a Sea of Palestinian Flags
The Habib Bourguiba Avenue was transformed into a vibrant human river, waving Palestinian colors. Over a thousand Tunisians, men and women of all generations, came from all corners of Tunisia to converge on the beating heart of the capital. With one voice, they expressed their anger and loyalty to a cause that transcends borders.
Thus, in the wake of global mobilizations, Tunis made its voice heard. Waving Palestinian flags high, protesters chanted slogans demanding the immediate lifting of the siege imposed on Gaza and the release of the arrested activists from the Soumoud Flotilla. This flotilla, a symbol of hope, was carrying medical and food supplies to the people of Gaza before being violently intercepted by the Zionist occupation forces.
From the Republic Square to the Habib Bourguiba Avenue, footsteps resonated like an echo of dignity. Placards denounced war crimes, slogans highlighted the gravity of international law violations, and faces, grave but determined, carried the weight of shared indignation.
This march was not just a cry of solidarity, but an act of civil resistance, a refusal to forget. Protesters reminded that the arrested activists were not armed fighters, but humanitarian aid workers, silenced by an act that many describe as piracy on the high seas.
