The Tunisian Dinar Ranks as Africa's Strongest Currency in September 2025
According to the ranking published by Forbes Currency Calculator and reported by Business Insider, the Tunisian dinar has risen to the top of the list of Africa's strongest currencies in September 2025.
With an exchange rate of 2.90 dinars to the US dollar, the national currency surpasses the Libyan dinar (5.40) and the Moroccan dirham (9.04), confirming the dominance of North Africa in this ranking.
No country from the CFA franc zone is among the top ten, which is dominated by economies with strict monetary policies and independent financial regulations.
The Ghanaian cedi ranks fourth, having gained nearly 21% against the dollar since the beginning of the year, which has contributed to bringing inflation down to 11.5% in August 2025, its lowest level since October 2021.
This ranking, which takes into account the value of currencies against the US dollar, reflects the resilience of the Tunisian dinar, despite a regional economic context marked by inflationary tensions and fluctuations in energy prices.
