Average Money Market Rate (TMM) Continues Downward Trend, Reaching 6.99% in February 2026
The average money‑market rate (TMM) kept its downward trajectory, settling at 6.99 % in February 2026, down from 7.08 % in January 2026. These figures come from statistical data released on Friday, 27 February 2026 by the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT).
The TMM peaked at 8.05 % in March 2023 before gradually receding to 8.00 % during the May‑September 2023 period and to 7.99 % in the fourth quarter of 2023.
Throughout 2024, the TMM stabilized, fluctuating between 7.96 % and 7.99 %. The downward trend resumed at the start of 2025, with the rate at 7.5 % from April to August 2025 and 7.49 % from September to December 2025.
Reminder: The Board of Directors of the Central Bank of Tunisia decided at its meeting on 11 February 2026 to keep the policy (key) rate unchanged at 7.00 %, while reiterating the need to continue supporting the disinflationary process in order to bring inflation back to its long‑term average.
