Eclectic Programming at the Theater and Performing Arts Hub

The Theater and Performing Arts Hub, affiliated with the Tunis Opera Theater, is offering an eclectic program open to a wide audience, as it does every year. Carried by professionals and passionate amateurs, these cultural events will showcase new creations, sometimes presented for the very first time.

Upcoming Events

According to Ms. Jamila Chihi, Director of the Hub, the following dates are to be noted:

  • September 26 - October 2: 6th edition of "Sortir au théâtre" (Go to the Theater)
    • This event, eagerly awaited by theater enthusiasts, precedes the Carthage Theater Days (JTC) and will pay homage to the late Fadhel Jaziri, a renowned Tunisian theater director.
    • An call for projects created in 2025 is already open, and seven pieces will be selected for the program.
  • January 9-14: 6th edition of the Amateur Theater Encounters
    • Amateur troupes from all over the country will present their original creations, which have consistently met with great success among audiences.
  • March 27-29: International Theater Day
    • The international theater day will be celebrated over three days with exhibitions, tributes, performances, and concerts.
  • May 14-17: First edition of the Theater Festival for People with Special Needs
    • Under the slogan "Through theater, I exist" (Bel masrah akoun), this initiative highlights the deeply human and inclusive vocation of theater.
    • The festival will feature actors with special needs bringing texts to life, offering a unique sensitivity and expression.
  • June 29 - July 5: Theatrical Expressions
    • These days will close the season with a cycle of performances open to the general public, dedicated to projects from theater workshops that took place during the season.

Other News

A new production is currently being worked on by the Tunis Opera Theater and will soon be presented to the public. Other plays produced during the 2024/2025 season continue to tour prestigious international events, receiving strongly positive feedback from audiences and critics.
