The Pitfalls of the Peace Plan

Sunday, December 7, the Butcher of Gaza Announces the Premiere of the Second Phase of the Sharm El-Sheikh Agreement

Bizarre and opportunistic, but not surprising from a cunning, perverse, and cynical politician.

A Bizarre and Opportunistic Announcement

The announcement is bizarre because apparently, he is the only one (along with his team in power) who thinks that the first phase is completed, folded, approved, and satisfying all parties. It is opportunistic since he reserved this news for when he received Friedrich Merz, the German Chancellor, on an official visit to occupied Al Quds - the first since Merz took office in February.

A Visit from the German Chancellor

During his visit, Merz reiterated his support for the Zionist state (which must defend itself), he said, without mentioning the hunger and genocide in Gaza. Netanyahu presented his view of the situation to his German guest, stating that there will be no Palestinian state and that annexation issues remain to be negotiated, without specifying further. This is his (perverse) way of seeing peace.

The 20-Point Plan

The plan stipulates that the war will end immediately after signing. It has been accepted and signed, but was there a willingness to apply the ceasefire? Has the Zionist state applied it? No. Netanyahu is lying (as he always has), he himself acknowledged that moving to the second phase will be difficult.

The First Phase: A Ceasefire and Humanitarian Aid

The initial points include a ceasefire, the withdrawal of the occupying army from part of the enclave, and the entry of increased humanitarian aid, etc. So far, only the point about the release of hostages and prisoners has been applied. The Zionist occupier has violated and trampled the ceasefire, with over 350 Palestinian civilians killed, not to mention the wounded since the truce took effect.

How to Move Forward?

How can we move on to the first phase while living under bombs without food or medicine? Many observers had rightly criticized this plan, calling it "rushed, written under pressure".

Humanitarian Aid: A Promise Unfulfilled

The plan provides for the immediate authorization to send complete aid to the Gaza Strip, where famine was confirmed in August by UN experts. The plan states that the amount should be in line with what was planned in the January 19, 2025 agreement on humanitarian aid: 600 trucks would be delivered every day. Where are we now? Hunger continues to ravage the strip, the pace of protests around the world has slowed down, and Gaza is no longer an emergency.

A Cynical Politician

Netanyahu's announcement is a clear example of his cynical and opportunistic approach to the situation in Gaza. While the people of Gaza continue to suffer, he is more concerned with presenting a positive image to his guests and the international community. The reality on the ground is far from the peaceful and prosperous future he claims to be working towards.
