Anis Montacer Represents Tunisia at the Prestigious BRICS+ Fashion Summit in Moscow
Anis Montacer, founder of the Tunis Fashion Week, represented Tunisia at the prestigious international fashion summit, the BRICS+ Fashion Summit, held in Moscow from August 28 to 30, 2025.
A Global Platform for Fashion
The event brought together members of fashion associations, textile companies, experts, designers, and buyers from over 100 countries, constituting a major international platform for exchange, partnerships, and reflection on the future of the global fashion industry. The 2025 edition of the summit highlighted the emerging industries and rapid development of the fashion sector in Moscow, which is now positioning itself as a new global fashion capital. From China to Brazil, passing through Tunisia, Indonesia, South Africa, India, and Italy, the BRICS+ Fashion Summit enabled significant collaborations between designers and fashion institutions, opening up new perspectives for growth and international cooperation.
Strategic Themes
The summit's program addressed strategic themes such as sustainable creation, innovation, professional training, expansion of trade exchanges, and the challenges faced by BRICS+ countries in a context of expanded globalization. Russian designers and brands from 10 countries, including Brazil, China, India, Spain, and South Africa, were showcased, giving birth to a new, multicultural fashion community in the heart of Russia.
Anis Montacer's Expertise
In this context, Anis Montacer shared his expertise, vision, and proposals for the development of the fashion sector in Tunisia and Arab countries. He stated: "I was honored to represent Tunisia at the BRICS+ Fashion Summit. This summit confirmed that fashion is a universal language, connecting people, cultures, and continents." He emphasized the strategic role that Tunisia can play, with its textile and artisanal heritage, in positioning North African aesthetics as modern, innovative, and relevant on a global scale: "Tunis Fashion Week, as well as Sea Design Lab, works to give international visibility to our creators and build sustainable bridges between Africa, Europe, and the rest of the world."
African Fashion: A Silent Revolution
According to him, African fashion is not a passing trend, but a silent revolution based on humanity, the planet, and culture: "The challenge is not to imitate Western standards, but to reinvent them through our stories and know-how." A vision of luxury rooted in culture, Anis Montacer calls for global recognition of African artisanal expertise: "Imagine a future where a Tunisian embroidered jacket is sold in New York or Moscow, not as an exotic curiosity, but as a piece of global cultural dialogue." "This is not a dream – it is already happening, thanks to Tunisian creators and the countless anonymous embroiderers who carry entire cultural stories in their hands."
Fashion as Cultural Diplomacy
For him, fashion is more than an economic sector: it is a form of cultural diplomacy and a driver of sustainable innovation: "Tunisian embroidery and the work of Tunisian designers show that sustainability is not a trend: it is a philosophy deeply rooted in our traditions."
