National Council of Regions and Districts Approves 2026 Budget Bill
The National Council of Regions and Districts adopted the entire 2026 budget bill on Saturday evening, December 6, 2025, following a plenary session that began in the afternoon.

The text was approved by 64 members, with 2 abstentions and 3 votes against.
Key Provisions
Before the final adoption, members validated Article 110, which sets the effective date of the budget provisions as January 1, 2026, with the exception of two measures:
- Article 56, related to the pensioners' bonus, and
- Article 61, concerning the Film and Audiovisual Investment Incentive Fund, whose application is postponed to January 1, 2027.
Next Steps
The President of the National Council of Regions and Districts, Imed Dherbali, emphasized the importance of returning to local councils to explain the benefits of the 2026 budget and the implementation modalities of its provisions.
He also stressed the need to:
- Strengthen coordination with government members
- Open debate on major national issues
- Remove obstacles hindering investment and initiative, in order to stimulate expected growth.
