Tunisian Republic Mufti Announces Islamic Calendar Dates for 2026
First Day of Dhou al-Hijja to Fall on May 18, 2026
The Mufti of the Tunisian Republic, Hichem Ben Mahmoud, announced on Saturday evening that May 18, 2026, will mark the first day of the month of Dhou al-Hijja in the year 1447 of the Hijri calendar.
In a statement, the Mufti clarified that Eid al-Adha will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, corresponding to the 10th day of Dhou al-Hijja in the year 1447.
He also noted that Sunday, May 17, 2026, will be the 30th and final day of the month of Dhou al-Qi'da, in accordance with the observation of the lunar crescent and astronomical calculations.
