Ministry of Finance Collaborates to Digitize Public Services
The Ministry of Finance is working in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Communication Technologies to digitize several public services, as part of a national project that affects several institutions, announced Minister of Finance, Michket Slama Khaldi.
Digitalization of Public Services
Speaking during a joint plenary session of the Assembly of People's Representatives (ARP) and the National Council of Regions and Districts (CNRD) dedicated to examining the budget of the Ministry of Finance's mission for the 2026 fiscal year, Khaldi emphasized that the goal is to facilitate and simplify procedures for citizens.
The Minister added that her department, as part of its digitalization vision, is working to reduce the number of institutions, particularly those dedicated to tax collection, while ensuring continuity and follow-up of programmed projects.
Ongoing and Upcoming Projects
Khaldi highlighted that several projects are currently underway, while others are planned, citing the example of setting up financial centers in Menzel Bouzayane, Fernena, and Téboursouk to bring services closer to citizens.
Digital Services
The Minister also recalled that her department offers several digital services through the financial receipts, including:
- Electronic tax declaration and payment (125,000 subscribers)
- Provision of TPE in 196 financial receipts
- Completion of 206,000 digital payment operations until the end of September 2025, compared to 187,000 operations during the same period in 2024
Collaboration with Ministry of Interior
Khaldi emphasized that the Ministry of Finance is working in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior to mobilize resources for the benefit of municipalities and financial receipts. This includes developing a digital system for better management of municipal resources and a remote tax payment service.
Recruitment and Salary Increases
Regarding recruitment in the public sector and salary increases, the Minister recalled that the recruitment policy has focused on certain sectors in recent years, without satisfying the needs of those sectors. She added that the resumption of recruitment in 2026 should have a budgetary impact on the state, hence the need to accelerate investments and create wealth.
