Adjustments to School Schedules for Ramadan 2026
On the occasion of the sacred month of Ramadan, the Ministry of Education has announced adjustments to the school schedule for the 2026 academic year, which is expected to begin on February 18 or 19.
According to a statement addressed to regional delegates and school directors, the duration of classes will be reduced to 45 minutes in order to better reconcile school activities with fasting rhythms.
The statement specifies the schedules applicable during Ramadan:
- Morning period: from 8:00 AM to 11:20 AM, with a 10-minute break.
- Afternoon period: from 12:20 PM to 3:40 PM, with a 10-minute break. The Ministry also reminds that all written evaluations must take place according to the official schedule and must not exceed 4:00 PM. It emphasizes the need to adapt the content of other evaluations to the specific schedules of the month of Ramadan.
These measures aim to ensure a smooth running of classes while respecting religious requirements and the well-being of students during this period.
