Ministry of Agriculture and Hydraulic Resources Reviews Tuna Fishing Regulations
The Ministry of Agriculture and Hydraulic Resources is currently reviewing the ministerial decree of April 7, 2025, related to the organization of tuna fishing and farming. In response to a written question from 36 members of the People's Representative Assembly, the ministry specified that this review aims to ensure equal opportunities and strengthen transparency, by correcting the shortcomings observed during the application of the regulation in previous seasons. The deputies emphasized in their written question that the ministerial decree organizing tuna fishing contradicts the will of the legislature as well as the provisions of Article 17 of the Finance Act for the year 2024, promulgated on December 11, 2023. This article indeed provides that additional resources from tuna fishing and export be allocated to small-scale fishermen.
