Minister of Youth and Sports Sadok Mourali Oversees Meeting to Accelerate Project Implementation
The Minister of Youth and Sports, Sadok Mourali, chaired a working session on the evening of Monday, December 15, 2025, to follow up on decisions and recommendations from his field visit to the Siliana governorate on December 6, 2025. This meeting is part of the efforts to accelerate the implementation of programmed projects and remove obstacles hindering their execution.
Key Projects Unblocked
The session led to the unblocking of several pending projects, including:
- El Rouhia Collective Sports Hall: The project, which had been on hold since 2018 due to a land dispute, is now resolved. Following the termination of the previous contract, orders were given to accelerate procedures to complete the project.
- Makthar Municipal Stadium: The necessary credits were unlocked for the renewal of the synthetic grass pitch.
- Makthar Youth Complex: Priority was given to creating an adjacent sports space equipped with modern facilities, while continuing the development of the accommodation center.
- Makthar Individual Sports Hall: A judicial investigation was opened into acts of vandalism and theft. Meanwhile, the procedures for calling for tenders to finalize the work were launched.
- Makthar Collective Sports Hall: The case was referred to the judiciary to establish responsibilities following the damage. The ministry allocated funds for a complete rehabilitation.
- Siliana Municipal Stadium: The remaining budget was allocated to complete the construction of the covered stands.
- Siliana Municipal Pool: This project, which was blocked at 58% completion after the termination of the old contract, is currently in the phase of relaunching the call for tenders.
- Sidi Bou Rouis Municipal Stadium: The athletics track is being developed (current progress rate of 80%).
- Gaâfour Individual Sports Hall: The decision was made to open it immediately, and the municipal services were called upon to accelerate the connection to networks and ensure the security of the premises.
- Gaâfour Youth Space: It will be exploited immediately as a permanent youth house pending its integration into a future integrated youth complex.
- Lakhouat Youth Club: It will be transformed into a fully operational youth house.
- Lakhouat Sports Park: The project will be accelerated through a direct negotiation tender procedure.
Minister's Emphasis on Modernization and Participation
Minister Sadok Mourali stressed the urgency of equipping establishments with necessary equipment and modernizing their programs to meet the expectations of today's youth. He emphasized that priority should be given to areas lacking leisure spaces, adopting a participatory approach. He also announced the revision of Circular No. 29 related to the organization and operation of youth spaces.
