Ministry of Equipment and Housing: Strengthening the Role of the General Inspection
Beyond evaluating the actions taken during the current year, a meeting at the departmental level was held yesterday to discuss the proposed action plan for 2026, as well as ways to strengthen the general inspection's actions to better achieve good governance in the various departments of the ministry and the realization of ongoing projects.
Minister Emphasizes Importance of General Inspection
The Minister of Equipment and Housing, Salah Zouari, highlighted the importance of restoring the strategic role of the ministry's general inspection, mainly related to support, supervision, and activation of its oversight role in the context of governance and anti-corruption efforts.
Meeting Attendees and Agenda
In the presence of the department's chief of staff, Kaïs Bedhiaf, and the interim General Inspector, Samia Gharbia, as well as several inspection and cabinet officials, the meeting examined the activities of the general inspection and presented some of the results achieved during control actions in numerous regional administrations and public establishments under the ministry's jurisdiction in 2025.
2026 Work Program and Support
The general inspection's 2026 work program was also presented, along with ways to support and develop it to enable the inspection to carry out its assigned tasks.
Minister's Remarks
The Minister emphasized the need to strengthen the strategic role of the general inspection, particularly in monitoring the application of laws and regulations in force in various areas of financial and administrative management, as well as providing support and supervision to ensure good governance, in addition to examining petitions and complaints.
Improving Performance and Achieving Objectives
Zouari also highlighted that control actions contribute to improving project performance and ensuring the proper achievement of objectives and the advancement of administrative procedures.
